The People's Pledge to End Corporate Money in Politics

I, as an elected official or candidate for public office in the United States of America, recognize that:

  Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy.

  Corporate and special interest money in elections undermines the voice of everyday citizens, creating unequal access to power and influence.

  The integrity of government depends on public trust that laws are made in the interest of the people, not corporations or wealthy donors.

Therefore, I pledge that:

  I will support and vote for legislation that eliminates corporate financing of American elections and restores elections to the people.

  I will not accept campaign contributions from corporations, corporate PACs, or entities that seek to buy influence.

  I will not accept more than $5,000 in personal donations from any single individual, ensuring no one person can buy outsized influence over my campaign.

  I will publicly disclose all sources of campaign contributions in a timely and transparent manner.

  I will work to advance reforms that strengthen small-donor and public financing systems, so that all Americans can have an equal voice in our democracy.
